If you are like most dog owners, you always take your dog with you when you go out even when it is just a short trip. We, as dog owners, love our dogs and that makes us want to take them with us. And dog love to get in the car and go anywhere with you. While it is fun to take our puppies with us when we travel, there are some very important safety measures that should be taken to help keep your dog safe.
1. Never leave your dog in the car. You wouldn’t leave your kid in the car by themselves, you shouldn’t do it with your dog. Temperatures as low as 78 degrees can make the car feel like it is in triple digits. In those temperatures, even for just a few minutes, can cause serious harm, illness or even death to your dog. In some states, it is even illegal to leave your dog unattended.
2. Your Pet Needs Identification. You never know when something will go wrong. Emergencies can happen anytime. Whether it is a car accident, your call breaks down or even your dog could jump out of the car, your dog could get away from you. Make sure that your dog has the proper identification. It is the only way that the authorities can get your dog back to you. Whether you go for a simple method, like dog tags, or a more high tech way, such as a microchip, it will help you get your dog returned.
