I am really weird about the things that I drink. I rarely drink soda. I find commercial soda, just, just, well, bluck!Nice description there right. They are overly sweet, and not like a decadently sweet, and I feel like they leave this oil slick feel in my mouth and throat. And when I drink my calories, I want them to be amazing. My drink calories are saved for my bad habits, coffee with french vanilla creamer and sweet tea. Or when I treat myself with something special.
So when I was given the chance to check out the book The Artisan Soda Workshop By Andrea Lynn, I was pretty interested. The book contains 70 recipes, that are step-by-step instructions and has dozens of colorful photos. Using fruit, herbs and spices it is easy to make the syrups that are the base for some great concoctions. Add a little seltzer and the sodas are complete, even without a soda making machine. You can make drinks like Pineapple-Basil soda, Sparkling Rosemary-Lemonade soda, and Hibiscus soda. If you like more traditional sodas like cherry cola, root beer, and cream soda, you can make sodas like those too.
The Artisan Soda Workshop even includes ways to make these kick these sodas up a notch with alcohol. You can make a creamy pina colada or even apple cider rum. Even a prickly pear Margarita. What is great is since these, and all of the recipes from the alcohol enhanced recipe section are based on syrups from the beginning section, you can easily make these none alcoholic, in fact they are first introduced to you that way.
With 70 recipes in The Artisan Soda Workshop, I can not tell you how amazing they all sound. The ease and variety of them all will keep you amazed, and your friends will think you are a mixology genius!
