- Take a few extra steps: OK, so it might not be enough to call a workout, but take those steps. Instead of sending an email or calling a colleague in the same office, walk over and tell them in person. Walk over to the trash can and throw out one thing, instead of waiting until there are a few. Take the steps. Park your car at the far end of the parking lot, instead of looking for the closest space.
- Get dressed. Sometimes getting dressed in your workout gear, even when you don’t really want to, helps. It gets you motivated. Sometimes just putting on my sneakers makes me walk more, even if I don’t go anywhere. If I actually get into my workout shoes, I am ready to get out the door.
