I am one of those people who always has a travel itch. It never goes away. I am home for little more than a day and I am ready to go.As I have been planning our trips I have been trying to get to new places. Places that we have never been before. And I am trying to think outside of our vacation box.
My vacation desitinations need to be family friendly, with lots of fun things to do with the kids. But I also want to be able to have adult time, now that the boys are old enough to keep an eye on the girls for a short bit.
Missouri has tons of things to do, for familes and for adults. There are 51 state parks. With that many state parks there is plenty of outdoor activities. Or if hiking through a park is not your idea of fun, there is 3 zoos to help get your animal fill.
I can imagine my vacation now. 4 days to enjoy a new area, seeing the sites and enjoying some family time. But best of all making new memories. With the boys getting close to leaving for college in a 2 short years, I am realizing how little time I have left with all of us under one roof being able to do trips like this.
I think I would spend some time in Joplin. I would love to stop in at the visitor center in the morning. Welcome centers can be the best way to find local attractions. Then in the afternoon, maybe we would visit the Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubo center. I have seen pictures and it looks beautiful. After grabbing some lunch I would love to end the day at the Joplin Museum Center.
But I would be sure to plan at least one day for a float trip. These are days on the water. Since my family (minus Jimmy) loves the water, being in a canoe or raft would the perfecet way to spend a day. Jimmy can go off on his own and visit a casino.
I would love to end my last 2 days of a Missouri vacation in Saint Louis. There are so many things to do in Saint Louis. Between the 2 days ther eis the World's fair, seeing the architectural, like the Great Ark and fun activities that the kids would love like the Old Spaghetti Factory and the City Museum.
