With my crazy work schedule and the kids busy life, sleep is not always my friend. I am usually working early in the morning before the kids get up, busy with the kids and keeping up with the house, the cleaning, the cooking, the errands (you get the point) during the day, and then once the kids are in bed, I am working again. With all of it, something usually has to give, and it seems that is sleep.
When I decided to take part in the #AveenoDailyChallenge I decided the best thing I could do for myself would be to get more sleep. While most people decide to get 8 hours of sleep, for me, getting 6 hours of sleep is a more realistic goal and still a lot more than I was getting. Along with getting more sleep I started taking better care of my skin with Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion.

When I started the challenge, my skin was dry and looked tired. I noticed in the first week just how much I was sleep deprived. Every night, before bed, I would lather my skin up with the Aveeno Daily Moisturizer and head off the computer by 10:30pm. Then every morning I would lotion up and start my day. Right away I noticed more energy and a lot more patience. I also noticed my skin looked much healthier and was not dry and flaky.
By week 2, it wasn’t hard to shut down the computer by 10:30. Using Aveeno became part of my nightly routine, along with a nice cup of tea and using my eye mask. By the 3rd week, now when I do not get 6 hours of sleep, I can feel it. I have trouble focusing and I seem much more irritable. I can also bare my knees and elbows without being self concience of dry skin.
It was just a small step towards being healthier but small simple steps is the way to go to get on the right track and stay there.
