This December has been a very busy one. We have been dealing with sickness, and we have had crazy weather. Starting in early December, everyone was sick with the flu. Just as everyone was getting better, we had 3 back to back snow and ice storms. Between the 2, there has been a lot of things that we normally do that we just could not get done this Christmas season. We usually love to go to see the lights in the neighborhood. We also like to go see the special light displays, where the lights dance to the music. We try to do that every year. This year was a bust.
One fun thing we were able to do this year was I took the train in Philly to see Santa. It was a first for my girls. They have never been on a real train ride before. I was a little worried about how they would behave sitting on a train for an hour. Attempting to keep the noise level down, and no seat belts to keep them confined. So, we talked about the places we saw rushing by. We pointed out large buildings and a few beautiful churches. And what they thought they would see when we finally got to Santa’s Village.
Now when we were at Santa’s VIllage, the day started to get a bit hectic. The kids didn’t like being in the very crowded line. Some children were pushing and shoving, making my guys kind of cranky. Add in that they were getting hungry, and the wait started to make us wonder why this was a good idea in the first place. But we were able to get this picture.
And then I remembered why it was a great idea. And the memories of seeing Santa, in Santa’s village, after riding the train is one of the best Christmas memories of the year.
Sprout calls these experiences “Holiday MOMents.” Those stressful times during the holidays. You know, those special kind of crazy moments saved just for moms. Between the kids’ cookie-induced sugar highs, and the mall crowds, it is those amusing, blood pressure-spiking memories. Sprout has found a fun way to share those moments. A way of looking back on them with a smile.
Head over to Sprout Holiday MOMents and take some of your MOMent pictures and create one of these special keepsakes.
