Kids are busy these days, and during their free time, they spend most of it plugged into something, a computer, iPad, mp3 player, video game, or something else that may have just come out. It is hard to get kids to be imaginative and engage with toys that are not basically a video game in one form or another.
But kids do love interactive toys. This is where the Fijit Friends make a great toy. While still being high-tech enough to keep kids entertained, since they respond to touch and being played with, the Fijit Friends encourage kids to play with them. The more the kids nurture the Fijit Friends the better they perform.
We recently we sent 3 Fijit Friends Newbies to enjoy. These super cute little round toys delighted the kids as soon as they saw them. Even the boys were interested in what was going on. The Newbies, which are holiday theme based, sing for the kids as they play with them. As the kids nurture them, they become better singers, rewarding the kids for taking care of them.
Our Newbies, which featured Trick or Treat Tia, Mila, a blue winter Newbie, and Winter Cheer Zia. Each has little ears, or antlers, or wings, whichever the case maybe. As the kids squeeze the sides, the ears (or whatever) move up and down and the Newbie makes little noises of happiness for the kids. There are several nurture buttons, that after the Newbie sings, by pressing the belly, the kids push. This makes the Newbie happy, nurturing it, and making it sing better.
These cute toys were loads of fun for all the kids to play with. The girls loved them, even the (teen) boys thought they were cool, and want to buy a few for their friends at school for the upcoming holidays. I know they will make gifts for my nieces and nephews for Christmas.
There are other Fijit Friends available as well. There are the Yipits and the Original. Yippits are dancing pets with zany personalities that can play music and dance, plus kids can teach them to perform tricks – sit, beg, turn and more. See them all at FijitFriends
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel Fijit Friends. I received product samples to facilitate my review.
