I love to cook, and I love Asian flavors. So do (most of) my kids. While we do not have to worry about issue with Gluten and needing Gluten Free foods, we often have friends and family over, between my friends and the kids’ friends, and sometimes they do have food sensitivities and I need something that I can feed them, that I do not need to worry if it will be off limits to them.
I was recently sent a few bottles of San-J sauces to try with my family. We were able to try the Teriyaki Sauce, Sweet & Tangy Sauce, Asian BBQ Sauce, and Orange Sauce, which are all Gluten Free sauces . Unlike most ordinary soy sauce that is made with 40-60% wheat, San-J Gluten Free Tamari is made with 100% soybeans and no wheat, so All San-J Gluten Free Asian Cooking Sauces are certified gluten free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization.
I was wondering how my family would enjoy the the sauces. This was something a bit new for them. I wanted to use them over something that was tried and true, so I made steak. I made a marinade with the sauce, then simply pan cooked the steak. After the steak was removed from the pan, I added a little flour to the left over drippings and sauce, added a bit more sauce, and made a slightly thick gravy. The kids loved every one of the sauces.

San-J Orange Sauce is adds orange flavor to your dishes, just like at your favorite Chinese restaurants. Now the Asian style Orange Chicken can easily be made at home. It makes a glaze on chicken, ribs, shrimp or tofu, and is great on stir-fry. It can also be used as a dipping sauce on spring rolls and dim sum.

Asian BBQ Sauce is a new twist on a regular barbecue sauce. It is a sweet & smoky barbecue flavor that has a hint ginger, garlic and sesame. It is perfect for the grill and matches beautifully with pork ribs or chicken.

The Sweet & Tangy Sauce is a blend of honey, fruit juice, gluten-free Tamari and spices that has a Polynesian flair. It can be used as a marinade, glaze or dipping sauce for spring rolls and chicken strips or stir-fry with tofu, chicken or shrimp and serve over rice.

The Teriyaki Sauce has a mild sweet flavor that is versatile for marinades, stir fry or even in a fried rice.
San-J offers lots of recipes for using these products, plus many of the other products that they offer. It is interesting to see new ways to use the sauces in your everyday meals. The San-J products are available in most grocery stores, with a store locator available on the website.
