6 weeks until Spring or 6 more weeks of winter

What did Punxsutawney Phil say this morning. Did he see his shadow at 7:30? He did. So there is 6 more weeks of winter.

Thankfully it has been a mild winter so far in my area, about 6 hours south east from the famous groundhog.

The Groundhog Day celebration is rooted in a German superstition that says if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2, the Christian holiday of Candlemas, winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says, spring will come early.
