Last year, I saw a great yarn destash challenge on The Knit With By Shair. She had it listed in her side bar. We started talking about it. When she had done it in 2011, there had been no where to link to, or post about, and it left her feeling lost.
We started discussing maybe doing one together, and than thought it would be fun to make up a points system, and get others involved.
Our official launch date is January 16, 2012, and we will be running until December 31st, 2012. You can join in at anytime, as the goal is to get down that yarn stash! Don’t feel behind.
You do not have to be a blogger to join in, just someone who uses yarn, and wants to use up some of your stash. There is no prize for the winner, just a cleared out stash, and a good excuse to go yarn shopping!!
Be sure to add yourself to the Google Doc below, and come back anytime to update where you are in points. Below the form you can link up any posts you make pertaining to this challenge, or good ways to use up your stash!

The Points System:
Yarn Ball Size Points
2 oz 25
5 oz 50
8-12 oz 100
14 oz (and up) 1000
Finish a project? 50
Bought a ball of yarn? subtract appropriate amount of points

Then this is perfect for you. I am in the same boat. I have bins full to use up.
Just finished 25 hats that destashed quite a bit, I really like this challenge, hopefully will cut down big on my stash
